Jimmy Piaguaje

Brazil

Jimmy is an indigenous filmmaker. He was born in the Siekoya Remolino community. He loves to face new challenges, visit new places and meet new people, which led him to work on the recovery of the spoken memory of his ancestors from 2015 until now. Currently, he participates in different documentaries addressing knowledge on medicinal plants and the struggle of his tribe – the Siekopai people – against the violation of the rights of their ancestral territory. He works as communicator for NGO Alianza Ceibo and is an indigenous member of the international organization Amazon Frontlines.
